Sweet Italian Sausage & Pepper Rigatoni
Pasta night is a regular must have in my household and I am always trying to spice it up and find new ways to have fun with it. I decided to give this recipe a try. Sweet Italian sausage is a staple for a great pasta night. Check out the recipe below!
Sweet Italian Sausage & Pepper Rigatoni
Ingredients:
- 16oz of Rigatoni Pasta 
- 2 24oz Jars of Pasta Sauce 
- 18oz of Sweet Italian Sausage ( diced, I cut mine with meat scissors) 
- 1/2 Cup of Diced Green Peppers 
- 1/2 Cup of Diced Sweet Onions 
- 2 Tablespoons of Balsamic Vinaigrette 
- Seasonings - 2 Tablespoons of Basil (fresh or dried) 
- 2 Tablespoons of Oregano 
- 2 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder 
- 2 Tablespoons of Onion Powder 
- 2 Tablespoons of Abodo 
- 1 Tablespoon of Sugar 
 
Instructions:
- Boil pasta based on box instructions. 
- Once you have cut the sausages to your preferred size, put balsamic vinaigrette in a pan and heat to medium/high. Add sausage, diced onions, and green peppers. Once these ingredients are in the pan, add 1 tablespoon of each ingredient, minus the sugar, to the meat mixture. 
- Brown sausage mixture until meat is thoroughly cooked. 
- Once meat is cooked add pasta sauce and stir in the remaining seasonings plus sugar to cut the acidity of the sauce. 
- Plate your sauce over your cooked pasta and enjoy! 
* I like to top with fresh basil and cheese, usually mozzarella or some kind of Italian blend!
